From March 9 to 17 2013 CelticFest returns to downtown Vancouver! The sights, the sounds, and the fun of all things Celtic brighten the street in front of the BEST WESTERN PLUS Chateau Granville hotel, as the 9th annual CelticFest kicks off a week of music, comedy, food and drink. And, as if to save the best for last, the whole festival culminates in the ever popular Saint Patrick’s Day parade through downtown Vancouver March 17!
CelticFest Vancouver 2013 begins Saturday March 9th, with a celebration at the Village on False Creek, a fun, family-friendly, free event featuring food, music, and more! This kick off celebration runs from 12 noon and wraps up at 5:00pm that evening.
Clubs up and down Granville Street will be featuring international and local entertainment, all with a Gaelic flavour. The Vancouver Fan Club at 1050 Granville Street will be hosting Brendan Grace, Ireland’s grand master of comedy, Saturday March 9. This show will start off the opening night of the festival with a lot of laughs!
On Thursday March 14th, Gaelic singer Mary Jane Lamond and fiddler Wendy MacIssac are joined by famed Scottish singer Maeve Mackinnon, for a night of great music at the Vogue Theatre at 918 Granville Street,
The Venue at 881 Granville Street comes alive with the rollicking dance music of The Town Pants on Friday March 15, promising a lively night and a lot of fun!
Our own Edge Social Grille and Lounge will be taking part in the festival, with drink features and a few surprises all week long!
This year’s CelticFest offers something extra special, with the Mahony & Sons Celtic Village on Granville Street between Robson Street and Nelson Street. For the weekend of March 16th and 17ththe Celtic Village has something for everyone, and it’s also free! There’s a street market, food, roving characters, music and a happy Celtic feel!
