Located only minutes from the BEST WESTERN PLUS Chateau Granville in downtown Vancouver, the merchants of historic Chinatown are pleased, and excited to announce the Chinatown Night Market is back for 2013!

Bigger and better, the Night Market has been revamped, a movement being spurred on by new merchants in this historic district of east Vancouver.

From May 17 until September 8 every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday night from 6:00 p.m. until 11:00 p.m. Vancouver’s Chinatown Night Market is once again a destination for both visitors and locals on a warm summer’s eve.

Set against a backdrop of many of the oldest buildings in Vancouver, the Chinatown Night Market takes on a very exotic air, with the sights and sounds, smells and colours of this culturally rich festival on Keefer Street, between Main and Columbia.

A new generation of entrepreneur is working hard to re-vitalize the Night Market, bringing a modern approach to this Vancouver tradition, while maintaining a strong connection to the Night Market’s roots in the Chinese culture.

New for the Chinatown Night Market in 2013 will be interactive pursuits including traditional interests such as mah-jong, storytelling, and kite-making workshops, as well as favourites like ping pong and outdoor screenings of classic films. Fresh culinary offerings will be made available by local food trucks for the first time, as well as street-side food booths.

Getting there from the BEST WESTERN PLUS Chateau Granville is easy too! A short 15 minute bus ride, or an even shorter cab ride will take you down to the heart of historic Chinatown.

The Chinatown Night Market for 2013 mixes old with new, and is a great slice of Vancouver culture for locals and visitors alike. If you’re visiting from out of town this summer, book a suite with us, and make a trip to the Chinatown Night Market a part of your agenda. If you are a local, come on down and see for yourself the changes taking place in Vancouver’s revitalized historic Chinatown.
