Vancouver Pride Festival 2013 is just around the corner, and the center of the Vancouver Pride Festival, the Davie Village, is located just around the corner from the BEST WESTERN PLUS Chateau Granville hotel in downtown Vancouver.
Presented by the Vancouver Pride Society, this festival is quite possibly the most colourful and festive of all Vancouver’s summer events. Vancouver Pride 2013 Events celebrate the LGBT community and lifestyle, while remaining inclusive to all.
The Vancouver Pride festival originated in 1973, and quickly evolved into becoming one of Vancouver’s mainstream summer festivals. Vancouver’s earliest Pride celebrations began when the Gay Alliance Towards Equality (GATE) organized a picnic and art exhibit in a West End park.
The biggest event on the Pride week calendar is the annual Pride Parade on Sunday August 4 2013! The first Pride Parade took place in 1978, and has grown in popularity every year. Tens of thousands of locals and visitors alike line the streets of Vancouver’s West End to watch this parade.
The BEST WESTERN PLUS Chateau Granville hotel is a sponsor of the LOUD Business Association Parade float. We are a TAG Approved Hotel , and we are featuring a special Pride Package. These suites are going quickly, so book now!
