The summer of 2013 in Vancouver is turning out to be one of the most spectacular summers on record for rain-free days, and hours of sunshine.
At the BEST WESTERN PLUS Chateau Granville Hotel in downtown Vancouver, this spectacular summer has meant day after day of hearing our guests from around the globe rave about Vancouver’s natural beauty. The blessing of the copious amounts of rainfall we receive annually is the lush greenery that surrounds us in the city parks, the surrounding wilderness, and even our own patio plaza in front of the hotel.
As August winds down and September approaches, Vancouver’s lush greens take on a tone of yellow and brown, as nature’s brilliance gives us one more show of colour before the inevitable rains begin again in October.
September in Vancouver is big on the sports fan’s calendar, as hockey once again dominates the sports pages with the return of the Vancouver Canucks to the ice in preparation for another NHL season. The new kids on the block, the Vancouver Whitecaps will vie for a playoff spot in the Major League Soccer championships, and the BC Lions of the CFL will be making another charge for the Grey Cup.
In the arts, September is the season for the Vancouver Fringe Festival 2013. Since the early 1990’s this festival has been entertaining thousands of theatre lovers with innovative productions. Some of the plays have gone on to international success, as in the case of the acrobatic comedy “The #14 Hastings”; about the madcap antics on board Vancouver’s most notorious bus route. Major touring bands will be keeping clubs and stadiums busy with their shows.
September is a wonderful time to visit for people in search of a less crowded tourism experience. While the BEST WESTERN PLUS Chateau Granville will be kept busy with guests from around the world, couples travelling are more the norm now, with school-aged kids back to their studies.
Vancouver in September with warm days and cool evenings, is simply a great time to visit.
