ROGERS SANTA CLAUS PARADE 2013
The Rogers Santa Claus Parade for 2013 passes only steps away from the BEST WESTERN PLUS Chateau Granville Hotel and Conference Center in the heart of downtown Vancouver. On Sunday December 1, 2013 kids of all ages will line the Parade route from Georgia Street at Broughton, to Howe Street at Davie, watching this wonderful annual spectacle!
2013 marks the 10th anniversary of this Vancouver tradition, and the Parade just keeps getting bigger and better. The Parade passes only one block from the front doors of this hotel, giving hotel guests a wonderful opportunity to enjoy this festive Parade easily. Marching bands, decorative floats, clowns, mounted police and more will elicit cheers from the thousands of spectators.
Enjoy Sunday brunch at the Edge Social Grille and Lounge on our main floor lobby level, before heading up to Howe Street to get a spot on the curb to enjoy all the fun and excitement of the Parade. The Parade starts at 1:00PM, so there will be plenty of time.
Under the banner “The Spirit of Giving,” The Rogers Santa Claus Parade is a major food and fund raising event for the Greater Vancouver Food Bank Society. Beginning in 2004, the Parade has collected more than $100,000 and more almost 70,000 lbs. of food for needy families across the Metro Vancouver area! Non-perishable food items will be collected along the Parade route, and monetary donations will purchase 3 times their worth in food!
The weather is never guaranteed at this time of year, so be sure to dress warmly, and maybe even bring some rain gear. This is Vancouver after all! Umbrellas are discouraged, as they will block the view of other spectators.
The Parade officials have set down a few points of etiquette, and we’ve listed them here:
- Please respect Parade officials.
- Please respect reserved spots.
- Please respect private property.
- Mind your manners.
- Allow children to sit at the front.
The Rogers Santa Claus Parade for 2013 promises to be great fun for all, and a great way to kick off the Christmas Season!
