Vancouver, known for its vibrant culture, offers a variety of art and music related summer festivals:

The Vancouver International Jazz Festival If you are jazz fan be sure to catch the festival before July 1st. It is known to be one of the largest music festivals in British Columbia, with many international artists.. The music is so entertaining it will have your toes tapping from the moment you get there.

International Busker Festival takes place on Granville Street on June 28-29, showcasing performers from all over the world. It guarantees you an entertaining weekend with everything from interactive comedy to unbelievable stunts.

Jericho Beach Park comes to life with the Vancouver Folk Music Festival, celebrating its 37th year and introducing many new artists and flavourful music.

Looking for a great place to spend your summer evening? Visit the Vancouver Early Music Festival and you are guaranteed a great time, with a series of vibrant music at the UBC campus from July 25th- August 9th.

Powell Street Festival will run from August 1 -3rd to celebrate the culture of Japanese and Asian Canadians.

Celebration of Lights

Celebrations of Lights is not only Vancouver largest event, it is the largest off shore fireworks competition in the world. The amazing firework display takes place along English Bay each evening with many countries participating like the USA on July 26th , France on July 30th & Japan on August 2nd .

Stanley Park

 Stanley Park was named the best park in the world by Trip Advisor this year! It is a park enjoyed by both locals and tourists. It is a great location to bask in the sun, stroll on a bike or take a nice long walk along the scenic seawall and the Stanley Park Gardens.

 

Pride Parade

The Vancouver Pride Festival is known to be the most colourful parade in the city. It certainly adds spice to the summer in Vancouver as it showcases a variety of extravagant music and dancing from the LGBT community. The parade takes place on August 3rd and is one, that shouldn’t be missed. Starting July 28th the PRIDE week hosts a series of activities as well.

PNE & Playland

The Annual Fair at the PNE starts on August 16th 2014 and is a fun filled event with plenty of rides at playland, as well as live performances in the evenings. It is a great fair for the family to enjoy time together from August 16th – September 1st..
