Canada Celebrates 148 years!

Get ready to celebrate Canada’s 148th birthday with a huge party around Vancouver! Bring along your red & white and celebrate Canada day with a fun-filled day of live music, dance performances, family activities and a spectacular fireworks show. Here is your guide to Canada Day in Vancouver. There are plenty of reasons to party!

1.Granville Island Celebrations

Granville Island plans to put on an amazing show to celebrate the day with live music, art work, face painting, kids activities and a parade. The parade begins at 1.30pm starting at ocean construction and ending at Ron Basford park at 2pm.

2.Waterfront Party and Parade

Join in on a free waterfront celebration. They will be hosting live entertainments on three stages , with food carts, street hockey followed by the annual Canada day parade! The waterfront party runs from 10am-6pm and the parade starts at 7pm on the corner of Georgia street and Broughton.

3. Fantastic Fireworks

End off the evening with a fantastic display of fireworks. Fireworks will be starting at 10.30pm and can be viewed at Canada Place. Other viewing areas include Harbour Green Park, Stanley Park, West Vancouver and North Vancouver. Here is a list of the best viewing spots.

4.Stevenson Salmon Festival and ship to shore

The Stevenson celebration starts early with a pancake breakfast served from 6.30am -11am. The parade starts at 10am followed by a salmon festival from noon. The ships to shore will be taking place conveniently on Canada Day, offering all visitors the chance to see more than 20 working historic ships on display from 12.30pm-6.30pm.

5.Kid-Friendly Canada Day Celebration at the Vancouver Maritime Museum

This free family-friendly event featuring Inuit story teller and children’s author- Michael Kusugak who will share stories about the Canadian Arctic from 11am-1pm. Kid’s crafts and cupcakes will be available to celebrate at the Vancouver Maritime Museum.

6.Vancouver international Jazz Festival

Vancouver is celebrating the 30th annual jazz festival. Unwind to the marvellous tunes at the jazz fest as they complete their final day. Here is the schedule for July 1st!

7. FIFA Women’s World Cup

July 1st is the Semi-Finals for the FIFA Women’s  World Cup!.We will have live screening of the game at the Edge Social Grille & Lounge! Come cheer on your favourite team with some good beer and appetizers on Canada Day! We have teamed up with Budweiser (Labatt) for a fun filled FIFA competition!
