Spooktacular Ways to Celebrate Halloween in Vancouver
Things are about to get a little bit scarier as we approach October 31st ! Get in the Halloween spirit with some of the many scary and not-so-scary events happening around the city. The temperature may be cooling down but Vancouver’s Halloween event calendar is only getting hotter! Here is a great list of things to do in Vancouver for Halloween.
Fright Night at the PNE
It wouldn’t be Halloween in Vancouver without mentioning Fright Night at the PNE. Beware the haunted house is recommend for adults or kids over 13 years of age. Fright Night 2015 features 7 haunted houses, 15 rides, The monsters of Schlock, and the Radiant Heat shows which guarantees a scream from everyone who attends! Fright Night runs until November 1st and is expected to be fun for all the family.
Stanley Park Ghost Train
The annual and much loved Stanley Park Ghost Train is back from the graveyards of yesteryear. Horror Classics, is this year’s theme. Jump on board and get a glimpse of dracula, frankenstein and the phantom of the opera awaken from their tombs!
Halloweenie – Granville Kids Market
On Saturday, October 31, take your costume cladded kids to Halloweenie, which is the kids market at Granville Island. This is the perfect treat for those who don’t enjoy the spooky side of Halloween and is ideal for young families. You cannot miss the kids market as it is the entrance to Granville Island.
Halloween at the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra (VSO)
Try something a little different by attending VSO in your Halloween costume. Sit back and be thrilled while listening to a selection of Mussorgsky’s Night on Bald Mountain, music from E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial, selections from Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Phantom of the Opera plus many more classics.
What’s Halloween without a visit to a haunted house? Here in Vancouver we are spoilt for choice. Why not take a visit to any of the following: Gravecouver, Fearmongers, and Chinatown haunted house. It is advised to check the fear factor of the haunted house as some are not intended for the easily scared.
Halloween at the Chateau Granville
Our annual staff pumpkin carving contest has started and our team is busy carving their best for the competition! Our lobby will be filled with a marvelous display of pumpkins from October 26th-November 1st.All Pumpkins will be carved by our very own team members. Join in and vote for your favourite pumpkin and you could win a $50 gift certificate for The Edge Social Grille & Lounge! Votes are accepted at the hotel and also on our Facebook Page.
