Meet the long standing members of the Team!
“The only source of knowledge is experience”-Albert Einstein
We recently had the pleasure of interviewing some of our long tenure staff, that play a vital role in the growth of our hotel.
We asked some of the team a few questions about their time here at the BEST WESTERN PLUS Chateau Granville Hotel & Suites Conference Centre. Read our blog and meet our long tenure staff!
- How long have you been here and what is your current role?
- What is your most memorable experience during your time working here?
- What has kept you here for some many years?
Philip Bryant – Director of Sales
Philip, has been with our hotel for over 36 years. During Philip’s time with the hotel he has held a number of different positions in front office operation and revenue management
When asked what his most memorable experience was to date , he said it was when he was working as the reservation manager, he met his wife Corrine who was the front office manager at the time.
When asked what has kept him here for so many year, Philip said “In this industry the grass is probably not greener on the other side if there is no drought and you are a competent groundskeeper”.

Bruce Sargent, Duty Manager
Bruce joined our hotel in February 1993 as a night auditor and held this position for 10 years. Bruce is currently a duty manager a position that he has held since February 2003. Bruce shared one of his funniest memories of the hotel was when we had several Mariachi bands staying at the hotel and for several hours during the day at least one of the bands were in the lobby in full costume and rehearsing. When asked by the hotel guest what was going on, Bruce told them our lobby music system was down and this was our back up system! 🙂
