Here are our suggestion on 5 Festive Fun Activities that are guaranteed to get you in the festive mood!
Festival of Lights at VanDusen Garden
Are you looking to see a spectacular lights display in Vancouver? The festival of lights at the VanDusen gardens are guaranteed to light up your holiday season. Stroll through the garden and be dazzled by hundreds of twinkling lights. This year you will be able to experience the ’Jardins de Paris.’ A romantic Parisian getaway created by the festival of lights sponsored by YVR. The garden is open December 1 to 31 from 4:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. daily, with late nights (10 p.m.) from December 18-23 (Closed December 25). Brighten up the holidays at the VanDusen Garden!
Canyon Lights at Capilano Suspension Bridge
Have you been to North Vancouver to see the Capilano Canyon Lights? The Canyon Lights returns for the 10th year. Be enchanted by the lights display as you walk along the suspension bridge, the cliff walk, the rainforest and canyon. Create your own light show with VocaLites which is a new feature added this year. It is a voice activated interactive light display in the rainforest and where the Canyon Lights are illuminating the river below and the canyon’s cliff face!
Karaoke Christmas Trolley Tour
Jump on board the Karaoke Christmas Trolley and get in to the festive spirit by singing your way along the streets of downtown Vancouver. Unleash the popstar within. You will sing your way to the bright lights in Stanley Park and you will have the opportunity to walk around their festive display. The trolley will then take you to the lights display in VanDusen Garden. The tour dates are December 1st-December 30th, 2015, no tours will operate on December 25.
Fly Over Canada
Help Santa find his missing elf’s at this year’s FlyOver Canada from November 27th to January 5th, 2016. After your adventure you will be led in to Santa’s work station in the North Pole. If you are visiting FlyOver Canada make sure you view their performance schedule to find out information on their live performances, visits with Santa, ice sculpture displays and more. Make a day of it by availing of their unique holiday package, a ticket to FlyOver Canada and Vancouver Christmas markets.
Get Snow Globed
Get snapped in a giant snow globe, “Get Snow Globed” The Harbour Centre and the Vancouver Lookout invite you in to their giant sized snow globe to get your picture taken. You can have your picture taken by making a minimum donation of $5, all the proceeds will go to the Kettle Society, a local non-profit that assists people living with mental illness. The perfect picture to take for your holiday greeting cards!
