St. Patrick’s Celebrations in Vancouver starts this weekend!
The St. Patrick’s Celebrations in Vancouver are about to kick off, it is great to see the whole city get behind the celebrations. St. Patrick’s Day is celebrated every year on March 17th, honoring the patron Saint Patrick. The celebrations are now nearly worldwide, as the saying goes, if you can’t beat them join them!

CelticFest kicked off on Thursday, March 10th with a range of events running until Thursday, 17th March. Watch great Irish artist such as Sharon Shannon or The Irish Rover perform over the festival. The Festival has a range of ticketed and free events that will take place over the duration of the festival, view the full schedule of events here.
St. Patrick’s Day Parade
The streets of Vancouver will be turning green on Sunday, March 13th for the St. Patrick’s Day parade. The parade is from 11am until 1pm. The parade starts at Howe and Davie and continues north along Howe to Georgia Street and concludes at Georgia and Granville Street. The parade includes 2,000 participants, and features Celtic musicians, stilt walkers, antique vehicles, Irish dancers, and much more.
St. Patrick’s Day 5K Run
This 5km run takes place on Saturday, March 12th in Stanley Park pavilion and for the past few years the run has been supporting the Canadian Diabetes Association (CDA). The race is guaranteed to be a fun day out, if you are participating in the race make sure you wear your green attire. For updates on the race keep an eye on their Facebook page.
Something for the Kids
The Blarney Stone in Gastown will host an all age’s party for all the family to enjoy on Thursday, March 17th. You can expect a breakfast buffet, street performers, balloon twisting and more. Kids under the age of 12 have free admission to the event.
St. Patrick’s Day at the Edge Social Grille & Lounge
Our restaurant, the Edge Social Grille & Lounge will also be celebrating St. Patrick. Our celebrations commence on Sunday, March 13th join us for some delicious beef stew and a pint of Guinness. Request a pint of Guinness in Irish, Pionta Guinness, le do thoil. Our celebrations will be running until Thursday, March 17th, we hope to see you over the celebrations and raise a glass with us!
