Now that we have started a new year, you’re probably making plans for new adventures and vacations! We spoke with some of our team in our hotel and here are some of their easy tips to stay healthy while traveling.
While packing, always remember to pack your favorite sports clothes and shoes. You don’t want to miss any opportunities for hiking or doing any fun sports while traveling. Also, you won’t have any excuses not to exercise during your vacation. It’s important to take a reusable water bottle everywhere you go. This will keep you hydrated, helping your body to maintain its temperature while removing toxins and lubricating joints.
Keep your brain active
Just as you have to exercise your body to keep your muscles in shape, you also have to exercise your mind. Solving a sudoku or crossword puzzle helps to stimulate your brain. Don’t let anxiety take over during those waiting periods at airports or during the flight. These games can help keep you calm and focused. Stress is very bad for you, so make sure you have games that help your mind stay healthy.
Now that you brought your sports gear, it’s time to find what you want to do. Going for a quick run, meditation or stretching when you wake up in the morning will keep you happy and healthy. If you rather working out in a gym our hotel has a complimentary fitness centre which is available to all our guests. After your vacation, it is nice to be able to come back well rested and healthier!
Always bring snacks with you
Starting your day with a good breakfast can help you to be more energized, our restaurant The Edge Social Grille & Lounge offers a variety of options for you. When travelling, it is easy to miss a meal because you’re busy enjoying your time off. Always have a healthy snack option close at hand, this will help avoid cravings for fries or unhealthy food to get you through. Always keep some fruits, veggies, or nuts that help you from falling into despair and eating something you may later regret. Snacks should have around 150 calories, but if you’re still hungry after your snack, it’s okay to eat a bit more. You’re burning those calories while you are out exploring!
