We have put together a few suggestions on how to make the most of your girls’ weekend in Vancouver, now we’re doing the same for the boys!
One of the best things about Vancouver is the ease of getting around. Most of our ideas are accessible via foot or transit from downtown! Take a look below for more.
Cycle the Vancouver Seawall
Cruise along the seawall, surrounding Stanley Park, taking in the sights and sounds of the city, where the beach meets downtown. Start at English Bay and do a loop back around Stanley Park, or go a little further and connect with a bike route that will take you through Jericho Beach Park, Spanish Banks, and all the way to the University of British Columbia. Check out this link for more details and a map to plan your route.
Try an Escape Room
Looking for a challenge that comes with a surge of adrenaline? Escape rooms are a unique type of bonding experience for any group. Work together, face your fears, solve the clues and await your fate! Check out this list of escape rooms in Vancouver and book in advance to avoid disappointment.
A Brewery tour is a must do experience while in the city. Taste your way through Vancouver’s craft beer scene and have a great time while doing it! Choose the walking or the cycling one – just make sure you stay steady enough to operate your bicycle by the end of the tour! There is an abundance of companies to book with so take a look online to see what schedule suits your group best!
Rent A Seadoo
If you like a little water sport, riding a seadoo will be right up your alley! Designed with thrill seekers in mind, this is the ultimate way to explore Vancouver’s beautiful coastline. Take a look at Vancouver Water Adventures for more details and other equipment available for rental.
Take In A Whitecaps Game
Vancouver is proud home to the Vancouver Whitecaps, a professional soccer team formed in 2009. In the 2012 season, the team became the first Canadian team to qualify for the MLS Cup Playoffs. The team primarily play in BC Place, which is within walking distance of Downtown. They also play rival teams within their home town which mainly consists of Canadian and American soccer teams. The matches promise great atmosphere and you also have the chance to visit one of Vancouver’s premier stadiums!
Tackle The Grouse Grind
Do you like to ease into your vacation and switch to chill mode as soon as you step foot in a new city? If you do, by all means drop your bags and grab a cocktail – it is patio season after all! But if you prefer to kick it up a notch and add something a little more challenging, you’re in the right place! Take on the Grouse Grind, a mountain hike just 30 minutes from downtown Vancouver. This is not a long hike – usually taking between 1 to 2 hours – but be warned. It’s been dubbed ‘Nature’s Stairmaster’ and it’s not for the faint of heart!
Chateau Granville is located in the eclectic Granville district, within walking distance to bars, restaurants, shops and public transit. If you’re planning a trip to Vancouver coming up in the near future, take a look at our website for room rates and availability.
