Should you be visiting us this winter, we hope you get a chance to check out some of the winter activities in Vancouver.

We are very lucky to be located within a short commute to Vancouver’s local mountains such as Grouse Mountain, Mt. Seymour and Cypress Mountain. There is plenty of winter activities on our local mountains to keep you busy.


Are you a skier or snowboarder you will be pleased to know that you can try either of these activities on our three local mountains, listed above. Each mountain has several runs suitable for every level and ability. Many of the mountains also have terrain parks, the perfect place to practice and improve upon your skiing or snowboarding jumps.

Wrap up warm and go snowshoeing. The local mountains offer snow shoe rentals. You can opt to go on a trail by yourself or book a snowshoe tour, there is a variety of different tours on offer. The trails on each mountain has a number of different trails suitable for every fitness level.

Ice Skating

Grab a pair of skates, lace up and go to one of the many ice rinks in and around Vancouver.  The nearest ice rink to our hotel is the Robinson Square Ice rink which is only located a few blocks from our hotel, the Best Western Plus Chateau Granville Hotel & Suites Conference Centre. Vancouver’s community fitness centre’s also have a number of ice rinks to choose from.

Grouse Mountain Winter Experience

Not a fan of skiing or snowboarding. Get the ski ride up to Grouse Mountain and take in the breathtaking views of Vancouver city.

Snow Tubing/ Tobogganing

Snow tubing and/or tobogganing is great fun for all the family. Each of the mountains listed above have designated areas for these activities, check their websites for rates and opening hours.
